Agile101 Goes International!

feature photo

You can now browse Agile101 in 21 languages (!) including:

Just click on the relevant flag in the side-bar to access the country-specific version. The only problem is the translator will only allow us to translate 1 page every 5 mins – once they’re translated they’ll be cached for 30 days at a time. We’ll get there slowly! (I’ve given a few sections a head-start).

There are a few additional things I’ll need to do with the styling/ads… and for some reason my right-rail disappears in IE at the moment… – all the outstanding improvements will be delivered in the next iteration.

Also, I apologise in advance if any of the articles don’t quite translate – one loyal Agile101-er has suggested that the French version might actually have been ‘written by a 10 year old’… which is pretty good if you ask me. Go Google Translator! ;)

Spread the word!

  1. Announcement: It seems the Google Translation Engine has temporarily banned us from using their service! …..We’ve made too many calls in too short a timeframe…Come on Google ;o)

If you – I’ll let you know when it’s all back up and working.

While I appreciate the effort and intention, I’m sorry to report that the Italian version of the text is completely unreadable. The translator did say that this was a “semi automatic” translation and that the actual translation would be provided later on, so maybe it’ll improve.

However, I’m not sure this is the right way to go. Anybody who is or wants to be involved with Software Development has to come to terms with the fact that English is the standard language of the industry, and if they are not able to read it they won’t go far in their job.

  3. Hi Bale,

Fair point. Let’s see how it gets on over the next few weeks – I’ll make sure not to be too disappointed if the non-english versions are unsuccessful :)

Perhaps we should re-name this ‘Agile101 International (Beta)’? lol
